How to Pay

Services Payment and Arrangement

Maweh Solutions simplifies the process of arranging and paying for services by handling your paperwork and working with your payors to determine coverage levels. We bill the appropriate plan directly and assist with accessing reimbursement from long-term care insurance providers.

  • Medicare

Medicare is the primary payor for home health care services, offering coverage to individuals aged 65 and older, those classified as “disabled” by Social Security for at least two years, and certain other special cases. For more details, visit medicare.gov.

  • Medicaid

Medicaid is a state-funded program providing health insurance and medical assistance to individuals, families, and children who meet income eligibility requirements.

  • Veteran Benefits

Veterans’ benefits cover a broad range of services, including long-term care, home or community-based care, and nursing home care. Eligibility depends on the need for ongoing treatment, personal care, and other factors such as financial status and VA disability.

  • Workers’ Compensation

Workers’ compensation provides benefits for injuries or deaths related to employment. This includes medical treatment, wage loss during rehabilitation, and permanent disability benefits. For injuries involving an uninsured employer, medical benefits may be available through the Uninsured Employers Fund (UEF).

  • Medicare Part C

Medicare Part C, also known as Medicare Advantage, offers more plan options and expanded benefits beyond Original Medicare, including prescription drug coverage and private Medicare plans like HMOs and PPOs. Most Medicare beneficiaries are eligible for Part C plans.

  • Private Pay

If you prefer to pay for services directly without insurance assistance, Maweh Solutions is happy to discuss payment terms with you.

  • Long-Term Care Insurance

Long-term care insurance covers the cost of extended care services not typically covered by primary insurance, such as skilled, assistive, or personal care in various settings, including home and community facilities.

  • Insurance Companies

Maweh Solutions coordinates with the largest health insurance providers, including workers’ compensation, auto insurance, and employer-sponsored and consumer health plans, to ensure reimbursement for services.

  • Health Care Exchange Marketplace

The Health Care Marketplace is for individuals without employer or state-provided health coverage. It allows you to compare and select health insurance that meets your needs and budget. After Open Enrollment, you may still qualify for private coverage through the Marketplace if you experience a qualifying life event. Visit healthcare.gov for more information.

Family/Client FAQs

Will you assign caregivers or staff to care for my child or loved one?

At Maweh Solutions, we value the family partnership model, which ensures comprehensive care for our clients. This model offers families two options for selecting caregivers (DSPs):

  1. We can hire qualified family members, friends, or others as your caregivers (DSPs) once they meet all necessary eligibility requirements.
  2. We collaborate with local colleges and organizations to recruit skilled professionals interested in becoming DSPs. Interested individuals can apply through our website, and Maweh Solutions will review their applications. We will share qualified candidates with families for interviews, allowing you to choose the best fit for your team. If you’re interested in expanding your team, please inform our office so we can connect you with potential applicants.
How can I begin with Maweh Solutions?

To get started, simply fill out and submit the online referral form available on the services page. If you have existing DSPs on your team that you’d like to retain, please have them visit our employment page and, if interested, complete the online application. Once we receive your referral form, we will reach out to initiate the process.

How much do you pay caregivers?

We are pleased to offer a competitive hourly wage ranging from $15.00 to $18.00 for DSPs. Additionally, we are planning to introduce bonuses and incentives for our team members in the future.

Do you work with PA (Prior Authorization) hours?

No, PA hours are typically provided and billed through a nursing agency via Medicaid insurance, not the Medicaid waiver. Currently, we do not offer services for PA hours. However, PAC hours under the Medicaid waiver can be used as an alternative to PA hours. Please reach out to the office for further details.

HOME HEALTH

What is Home Health Care?

Home health care provides patients with access to the latest medical treatments in the comfort of their own homes. This approach enables patients and their families to maintain control over their living environment while being actively engaged in their care, ensuring they achieve their highest possible level of health.

Who is eligible for home health services?

Eligibility for home health services typically depends on the payer source. In most cases, the patient must meet the following criteria:

  • Be temporarily confined to the home
  • Be under a physician’s care with a valid physician’s order for services
  • Require skilled nursing or therapy services
  • Need intermittent care that is essential for treating their condition
  • Be able to safely receive services in their home environment
How can we cover the cost of home health services?

Home health care is typically covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance plans. Maweh Solutions is here to assist you in understanding your home health benefits and coverage options.

Is a new physician required when receiving Home Health Care?

No, you do not need to see a new physician. Your current physician will still oversee your medical care and will authorize the home health services. Our home health care team will stay in regular communication with your physician to ensure you receive the best care and that all of your needs are properly addressed.

Is 24/7 Home Health Care Available?

Home health care is provided on an as-needed basis, with visits scheduled to meet the patient’s specific needs and preferences. The goal of care is to promote the patient’s health and independence, so visits typically start off more frequently and reduce as the patient improves.

When and How Does Home Health Care Start?

Home health care can start immediately after a formal referral or request from the patient’s doctor. Once Maweh Solutions receives the referral, a representative will aim to visit the patient within 24 hours, depending on the patient’s, family’s, and/or primary caregiver’s schedule and needs.

Do state and federal authorities inspect and assess home health agencies?

Yes, state and federal authorities conduct periodic inspections of home health agencies. To offer services and retain their operating license, home health agencies must meet state regulatory standards and licensure criteria. Additionally, they must adhere to federal regulations to qualify for reimbursement under Medicare.

How can I be assured that high-quality home health care will be provided?

Maweh Solutions is fully licensed by the state and certified by Medicare. Additionally, we are accredited by the Joint Commission (JCO), which reflects our commitment to excellence. Our agency consistently receives top rankings on Medicare’s Home Health Compare website, which publishes and compares patient outcome measures with other agencies both statewide and nationally.
